About Me

@ the United Nations

My name is Angela, and I'm a relatively new teacher-- this is my second year officially teaching. History has always been my favorite subject, so naturally I'm a high school social studies teacher. I teach in West Allis, Wisconsin, and live nearby in Milwaukee. My favorite part of teaching is being able to share my passion for history with students, and hopefully ignite their passion for learning history as well. Seeing students have those "light-bulb" moments are some of the best feelings I get.

I started this blog at the suggestion of an assistant principal at my school. Though teaching is extremely difficult, and at times I feel disappointed, stressed, and lost, it is important to remind myself of the good. My goal with this blog is focus on the small and large victories of each day, but also to show to others that teaching, though challenging, is rewarding and meaningful.

The inspiration for this blog comes from Greater Good in Action, part of UC Berkeley. This organization argues that simply documenting three good things each day can contribute to a marked improvement in outlook. I look forward to putting their plan into action in my life.
